Trust For Advancement Of Aerodynamics In India (TAAI) Was Established 15 March 2008 With A View To Promote Aerodynamics Activities In India. TAAI Is Registered As A Private Trust With Its Office At CSIR National Aerospace Laboratories, Bengalurur, India. The Board Consists Of Prof R Narasimha, Dr V Adimurthy, Dr Prahlada, Dr S M Deshpande, Dr K P Singh, Dr A R Upadhya And Mr Biju Uthup. The Board Members Established This Trust Foreseeing That There Is Need To Promote Aerodynamics In India Particularly Owing To Major Aerospace Programmes Unfolding.

The Following Are The Objectives Of TAAI:

(A) To Promote R&D Activities In Computational, Experimental And Theoretical Fluid Dynamics, Multi-Disciplinary Optimization, Design Of Aerospace Vehicles And To Encourage New Research Areas And Technologies Used In Design Of Aerospace Vehicles And For These Purposes Seek Cooperation And Help Of All Scientists And Engineers Working In The Above Areas.

(B) To Support Conferences And Symposia In Computational Fluid Dynamics, Applied Aerodynamics, Design Of Aerospace Vehicles And Related Subjects. To Support Scientists Participating In Various National And International Conferences In The Areas Mentioned Above And To Encourage Specialised Workshops And Mini Symposia Abroad In These Areas. TAAI Also Seeks To Arrange For Indian Delegates To Participate In Mini Workshops And Symposia.

(C) TAAI Also Envisages To Help In Publishing Scientific Magazines, Periodicals, Journals And Writing Of Books.

TAAI, At This Time, Supports Two Main Events, Viz., SAROD And SPICES. SAROD Is A Symposium Held Every Two Years Which Aims To Bring Together Researchers, Scientists And Engineers Working Towards Applied Aerodynamics And Design Of Aerospace Vehicles. It Has Been One Of The Most Successful Event In The Country. SPICES On The Other Hand Focuses On Use Of Computational Fluid Dynamics Codes As Design Tools And Is Conducted In The Spirit Of Competition.

TAAI Has An Executive Council Looks After The Day-To-Day Affairs Of The Trust Which Consists Of A Chairman, Secretary And A Treasurer. In Addition, An Advisory Council Consisting Of Members Drawn From A Number Of Organization Within India And Abroad Guides The Activities Of TAAI.
